Freelance WordPress Developer Across Bangalore

Where I work across the city, and what the brief tends to look like in each part of it.

I am a freelance WordPress developer based in Bangalore, working with businesses across the city – and remotely with businesses well outside it. This page is the index: pick the area closest to you, or just tell me what you need.

Overview

One developer, the whole city

Bangalore is not one market. A startup in Koramangala, a manufacturer in Whitefield, a jeweller in Jayanagar and a school on Sarjapur Road want genuinely different things from a website, and a brief written for one of them is wrong for the others.

So rather than one page claiming to serve everybody identically, there is a page per area below, each describing the kind of work that part of the city actually asks for. They are not the same page with the name changed – if your area is not listed, the nearest one is still the closest read.

What does not change is how the work runs: directly with me, fixed price agreed before anything starts, a staging link from early on, and a training handover at the end so you can run the site yourself. No agency layer and no account manager.

And to be plain about the geography: I am one freelancer based in Bangalore. There is no office in any of these neighbourhoods, none of these pages claims one, and the structured data on each says so.

What I offer

What I build for Bangalore businesses

01

WordPress development

Custom WordPress sites built to the requirements you actually have, rather than a bought theme bent until it roughly fits.

The site does what the business needs, instead of the business working around a template.

02

Website design & development

Design and build together, so what is drawn is what gets shipped and nothing is lost in a handover between two suppliers.

One person accountable for how it looks and whether it works.

03

E-commerce development

WooCommerce and Shopify stores with real product data, tax and shipping rules, and a checkout that has been tested with live payments.

A store you can run yourself rather than ring someone about.

04

Website redesign

Rebuilding an existing site without losing the rankings and the URLs it already has. Redirects mapped before anything goes live.

A better site that keeps the traffic the old one earned.

05

Landing pages

Single pages built for one campaign and one action, with the tracking wired in before launch rather than after.

You can tell what the spend did.

06

Maintenance & support

Updates, backups and monitoring on a schedule, so problems are found before a customer finds them.

The site stays current without you having to remember it.

Key benefits

Why work with a freelance developer

Not an agency, not a marketplace. One developer, working directly with you, accountable for the result.

You talk to the developer

No account manager and no ticket queue. The person who writes the code is the person who answers the question, which is why answers are usually the same day.

Built for what you need

The build follows your requirements rather than a package. If something on a standard list is no use to you, it does not get built and you do not pay for it.

Mobile first, not mobile last

Most traffic to a Bangalore business arrives on a phone. The small screen is designed first and the desktop follows, rather than the other way round.

SEO structure from the start

Headings, URLs, metadata, internal links and technical SEO handled during the build, not bolted on by someone else afterwards.

Performance treated as a feature

Core Web Vitals, image handling and caching are part of the work. A site that takes six seconds on mobile data has already lost the visitor.

Support after launch

Launch is not the end of the contract. Ongoing maintenance is available, and so is simply being reachable when something needs changing.

Who this is for

Who I work with across Bangalore

The same six briefs recur across the city, with different emphasis in each part of it.

Startups & small teams

A credible site quickly, built so a small team can keep it current without raising a ticket for every change.

D2C & retail brands

A store that handles stock, variants, offers and payments, and that your own staff can operate on a busy day.

B2B, manufacturing & engineering

Capability and specification content written for a technical reader, with documents that can actually be found.

Clinics, schools & practices

Current services, timings and admissions, structured so staff update them and people searching nearby find them.

Professional & local services

A small, fast, honest site that explains what you do and makes contacting you trivial.

Established family businesses

A current site that confirms a reputation already built, rather than a redesign that risks it.

Where I work

How working across the city actually works

Most projects run remotely regardless of which side of Bangalore you are on – calls, email and a staging URL you can open whenever you like. Given the traffic, that is usually a relief rather than a compromise.

Where meeting genuinely helps I will come to you: a first conversation about scope, or a handover with whoever will maintain the site. For a retail business it is often worth doing once, because seeing the shop changes the plan.

Work also runs well beyond the city – Chennai, India, Canada, UK, USA, Dubai, Singapore – on the same terms.

Based in Bangalore

Meetings in person across the city when a project genuinely benefits from one.

Remote by default

Most projects run over calls, email and a shared staging link. Nobody has to cross the city for a status update.

Same time zone

Questions asked during your working day get answered during it, rather than overnight.

Beyond Bangalore

Work also runs across India and overseas - Chennai, India, Canada, UK, USA, Dubai, Singapore.

Industries

What tends to be needed, by business type

Across the city rather than by area. These are the kinds of brief I take, not a client list.

Typically needs: A credible site fast, changeable weekly.

How I help: WordPress built for editing, structure that survives a pivot.

D2C & e-commerce

Typically needs: A store the team can run without a developer.

How I help: Shopify or WooCommerce, chosen on how you actually operate.

Manufacturing & B2B

Typically needs: Specifications and documents that can be found.

How I help: Structured product data, indexed documents, trade pricing.

Healthcare & clinics

Typically needs: Services and timings current, appointments routed.

How I help: Structured services and consultants, routed enquiry forms.

Education

Typically needs: Admissions and courses updated every term.

How I help: Editable courses and schedules with simple workflows.

Retail & hospitality

Typically needs: Menus and catalogues that change constantly.

How I help: Editable content, fast mobile pages, honest stock handling.

How I work

How a project runs

The same six steps on every project, so you always know what happens next and what you get at the end of it.

01

Discovery

We talk through what the site has to do, who it is for and what is wrong with the current one if there is one.

You get: A written scope and a fixed price.

Why it matters: You know what you are buying before any money moves.

02

Planning

Sitemap, page structure, URL plan and - on a rebuild - the redirect map from the old site to the new one.

You get: A page-by-page plan.

Why it matters: The structure is agreed before anything is built, which is far cheaper than changing it later.

03

Design

Design of the key templates, on real content rather than placeholder text.

You get: Designs you can react to.

Why it matters: You see the actual thing before it is coded.

04

Development

The build, on a staging URL you can open at any point.

You get: A link that is always current.

Why it matters: No waiting until the end to find out what it looks like.

05

Testing & SEO

Cross-browser and cross-device testing, forms, speed, and the SEO basics checked against the plan.

You get: A tested site and the test results.

Why it matters: Problems get found before customers do.

06

Launch & support

Going live, with redirects in place, analytics connected, and a handover so you can run it.

You get: A live site and training.

Why it matters: You are not dependent on me to change a phone number.

Technology

What I build with

Chosen because it suits the job, not because it is the newest thing available.

WordPress

WordPress coreCustom themes, custom post types and taxonomies, the REST API, and an admin shaped around your content.
Gutenberg / block editorCustom blocks and patterns, so page building stays inside your design system.
ACFStructured fields where editors need control inside firm limits.
WooCommerceProducts, variations, tax and shipping rules, payment gateways and order flow.

Front-end

HTML, CSS, JavaScriptHand-written, accessible markup rather than whatever a builder emits.
BootstrapA grid and components the site already uses, kept consistent across pages.
Responsive buildOne build from a 320px phone to a wide desktop.
Core Web VitalsImages, fonts, scripts and caching treated as part of the build.

E-commerce & integrations

ShopifyTheme customisation, Liquid templates and app integration.
PaymentsRazorpay, PayU, Stripe, PayPal and the usual Indian gateways.
APIsCRM, ERP, accounting, courier and third-party services connected properly.
AnalyticsGA4, Search Console and conversion tracking wired in before launch.
Features

What comes as standard

Included in the build rather than quoted as extras.

Responsive designOne build that works from a 320px phone to a wide desktop.
Custom post typesProducts, properties, courses, team members – modelled as real content.
Enquiry formsValidation, spam filtering, routing and an auto-reply to the sender.
WhatsApp enquiriesA route most customers in India will actually use.
Search & filteringFinding things in a catalogue without scrolling through all of it.
Speed workImage formats, caching, lazy loading and script discipline.
SEO structureHeadings, metadata, schema, sitemaps and internal links.
AnalyticsGA4 and Search Console connected and verified before launch.
Editor trainingA handover so your team can change the site without me.
SEO & performance

Found by people searching in Bangalore

Local search in a city this size is won area by area rather than city-wide. Someone looking for a developer usually searches with their own part of Bangalore attached, or with nothing attached at all and lets Google infer it.

Which is why the ten area pages exist, and why this one links to all of them: a page that genuinely addresses one area beats a page that lists thirty. The rest is local SEO groundwork and pages that load quickly.

  • Page titles and meta descriptions written per page, not generated
  • Headings in a real order, one H1 per page
  • Clean URLs, and redirects mapped on any rebuild
  • Schema markup so search engines can read the page properly
  • Local SEO groundwork: Google Business Profile, consistent details, local landing pages
  • XML sitemap and Search Console set up and verified
  • Internal links that connect related pages instead of leaving them orphaned
  • Core Web Vitals treated as part of the build, not a later fix
AI search

Readable by AI search as well

AI assistants answer by reading pages, so the things that make a page understandable to a person – a clear question, a direct answer under it, structured data saying what the page is – are the same things that make it usable to them.

I build pages that way. What I will not do is promise that your business will appear in any AI answer: no one controls that, and anyone selling it is selling something they cannot deliver.

  • Questions as headings, answered directly underneath
  • FAQ content marked up as FAQPage
  • Clear service and area information rather than marketing adjectives
  • Facts stated plainly enough to be quoted accurately
  • Structured data that matches what is on the page
  • No invented statistics, reviews or claims for a machine to repeat
Why me

Why work with me

Four honest reasons, and no awards.

01

Twelve years of it

Agency work first, then freelance, across more than a hundred sites. Whatever you bring is probably something I have shipped before – and if it genuinely is not, I will say so rather than learn on your budget.

02

You talk to the developer

No account manager and no ticket queue. Replies land within one working day, from the person doing the work.

03

Fixed price, agreed first

The scope and the price are written down before the project starts. If the scope changes, we agree the change; the invoice does not simply grow.

04

I will tell you what not to build

The cheapest part of a project is the feature talked out of it in week one. Expect to be argued with occasionally.

FAQ

Bangalore: common questions

All of them. There are detailed pages for Koramangala, Indiranagar, Whitefield, HSR Layout, Electronic City, Marathahalli, Bellandur, Sarjapur Road, JP Nagar and Jayanagar, and if your area is not listed the work is the same – just get in touch.

No. I am one freelance developer based in Bangalore who works with businesses across the city. None of these pages claims a local office, and the structured data on each one says the same.

No. Most projects run remotely anyway, and a good share of the work is for businesses elsewhere in India and overseas. Being in Bangalore just means meeting in person is an option if you want it.

Yes, when it helps – usually a kickoff about scope or a handover to whoever will maintain the site. For routine progress a staging link does the job better than a meeting.

Mostly WordPress, including WooCommerce for stores, plus Shopify where that suits the business better. The choice follows the brief rather than a preference.

It depends on scope, which is why every project gets a written scope and a fixed price before anything starts. If the scope changes later we agree the change; the invoice does not simply grow.

Yes. Maintenance covers updates, backups, uptime and security monitoring plus a set amount of content time monthly. It is optional, not a condition of the build.

Tell me what the site has to do, through the enquiry form or on WhatsApp. I reply within one working day, and the first conversation costs nothing.
